Wise Lab of DUT Held “The Advanced Workshop about the Methods and Applications of Scientometrics and Mapping of Scientific Knowledge”

On the morning of September 11th, “The Advanced Workshop about the Methods and Applications of the Scientometrics and Mapping of Scientific Knowledge” which was held by WISELAB had opened.

The advanced workshop began at 9:00. Prof. Zeyuan Liu made a beginning report on mapping of scientific knowledge which named “Mapping of Knowledge and Knowledge Visualization are on the Way”, Prof. Hildrun Kretschmer made a report named “Who is Collaborating with Whom? Explanation of a Fundamental Principle”.

In the next two days, the Dr. Chaomei Chen made reports on the recent development of knowledge visualization and the applications of Citespace, Prof. Kun Ding introduced the visualization and mapping of Chinese scientific knowledge, the other staff members of wise lab, Yue Chen and Haiyan Hou introduced the method on mapping of knowledge.

To make more communication and diffusion for scientometrics and mapping of scientific knowledge in China, the workshop attracts lots of researchers. There are 49 people registered, they’re from Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Science and Technology Information Institute, Beijing University of Technology, Neusoft, China Geological Survey Bureau, etc.
