The Closing of Fifth International Conference on WIS & Tenth COLLNET Meeting

The closing ceremony of Fifth International Conference on WIS & Tenth COLLNET Meeting is held successfully on September 16 in academic hall of the library of DUT. The chairman of COLLNET Prof. Kretschmer H. presided the closing ceremony. She evaluated this meeting as an unprecedented event saying that many outstanding scholars like Prof. Eugene Garfield, Prof. Howard D. White, Prof. Wolfgang Glanzel and Dr. Chaomei Chen got together in Dalian to discuss issues in Webometrics, Informetrics and Scientometrics. Prof. Kretschmer greatly appreciated members of WISE lab of Dalian University of Technology for their hard working since the meeting will not be so successful without their effort.

Prof Kretschmer then invited chairman of each parallel group during the last two days to give a summary talk for their speeches. Diana from Netherland said that one of the greatest gains by attending this meeting is to understand many new knowledge and new ideas.

At the end of this ceremony, it was the handover from this meeting’ sponsor China to the next conference’s sponsor India. Prof. Sagam, a representative of the next sponsor, spoke highly of this meeting and gave great thanks to Chinese sponsor for their excellent organization. “I hope that we can keep the next COLLNET meeting in the same standard”, he said. Zeyuan Liu on behalf of WISE Lab of DUT wished the next meeting more successful.
